Shaver outles

The use of shaver outlets os describes in Chapter 9 . The outlet itself consists of a two-pin socket with a switch , the assembly being suitable for fitting into a standard deep box . Figure 1.7 shows a shaver outlet which has the assembly on the back of the front plate and is suitable for fittings into a box recessed in the bathroom wall . Some shaver outleets are unswitched , in which case the sockets are permanently live , as is the case with unswitched socket outlets . They are also available in switched versions with neon indicators . A shaver outlets fitted in a bathroom or shower room must comply with BS EN 60742 , which incorporates a safety isolating transformer electrically isolating the output from the input . THe output then is earth-free.
